Rundergrundergren

Went to see Todd Rundgren performing "A Wizard, A True Star" at the Hammersmith Apollo (or whatever it's called this month) on Saturday night. It's one of my top five albums, just for sheer imagination and musical scope, and I was very excited... but unfortunately the sound up in the Circle was so bad that the whole night was rather underwhelming for me.

Fat Pigeon takes flight.

Fat Pigeon has made it through to the regional finals of Live & Unsigned 2010, somehow.  It's on Sunday 28th February at the Beck Theatre in Hayes, Middlesex at 3pm.

We need supporters to come along and, well, support us, so please get in touch to buy tickets!

YouTube

Question:  Is it possible to post a perfectly innocent comment on a YouTube video and not have some rabid keyboard warrior spout a torrent of abuse at you? People can be so sensitive!

If anybody wants to post comments on my vids, I promise I won't shout at you...

Magic Cake!

I've just made this - it's a chocolate cake with a popping candy base!  Bloody lovely - give it a go.  It's dead easy, which is surprising given that it's a Heston Blumenthal recipe.  Just takes a bit of patience, that's all.

And A Happy New Year

It's 2010 - where did that come from?!

This year sees a complete overhaul of the studio, new film work, more recording projects with exciting new bands, and - most exciting for me - my wedding!  How terribly grown up!

As part of my list of "Things to do in 2010", there'll also be an exciting European gig for Fat Pigeon, a concept album to end all concept albums, and I'm also hoping to play at least one gig each on drums, bass and sax.  You read it here - if it gets to December and some of these things haven't materialised, giz a nudge!

Merry Christmas...

Just a quickie to say Merry Christmas to you all.  I'll be writing a thrilling update in early January, so until then get munching on that turkey!

Gay Pigeon

11am at Brooklands College, Weybridge, on Monday 14th December, Fat Pigeon will be opening up the media department's gay pride event, "Gay Is OK".  We'll be wearing hotpants.

We're also planning to set up a straight pride event at some point in the future...

And the winner is...

Great night last night at Feltham's Got Talent!

Well done to everybody who performed - it really was so hard to choose the winners (and God knows how many times I've heard that cliché and not believed it), but hearty congrats to Emmanuel and Miles, who knocked us out with a slick, imaginative and professional performance - worthy winners of the cake!

Thanks to Carrie for asking me to help out, and well done for raising so much cash for a great charidy!

Hitchin em up...

This Thursday I'll be making an appearance as a guest judge at Feltham's Got Talent at the Feltham Community College.

It's from 5.00-6.30 and the cost of the tickets goes to Children With Leukemia - a worthy cause indeed!

If you're around, come and show your support for the top talent of tomorrow, and do your good deed for the day while you're at it!
